Can students retake assessments?

 

Retaking assessments in PathwayU

Yes! To retake an assessment, users can select the “retake” button found in their assessment results. While previous results are not stored in PathwayU, you can export each student's assessment results into a .CSV file format from COUNSELOR view by clicking "Download Report" and selecting your preferred criteria in the pop-up window. See screenshots below:

 

Are there benefits to students taking assessment multiple times?

Assessment results are impacted by many layered variables and considering a holistic view of how life events contribute to results. Therefore, it is possible that a student’s results could differ if they were to take PathwayU their first semester and then a second time during their last semester due to academic, career, or experiential exploration. It is also possible that a student may feel that their results are not accurate.

Is it recommended that students take the assessment multiple times?

Although it is not necessary to retake an assessment, retaking an assessment could be a good option for students who feel their results are inaccurate or if it has been a long time since they had taken the assessment.
